This month, we introduce Steve Nelson, aka Steve Who?, whose captivating saxophone playing has made him hugely popular. But his musical journey extends far beyond the digital realm. Motivated by a desire to overcome stage fright and rediscover his passion for the instrument, Steve began performing in Second Life (SL) in September 2020.
His setlists are a perfect mix of classics and new discoveries. From the cool style of Charlie Parker's "Blues for Alice" to the soulful energy of Tape Five's "Soulsalicious," Steve breathes new life into these classic songs. He also incorporates contemporary tracks by fellow Second Life performer Bsukmet, showcasing his love for modern electronic music. Other memorable moments include Rebirth Brass Band’s "Let Me Do My Thing" and Joe Sample's smooth "Hippies on a Corner."
For Steve, music transcends mere notes on a sheet. It's a deep emotional connection. This openness to emotional resonance is reflected in his diverse tastes, ranging from the raw energy of The Rolling Stones and the soulful blues of Eric Clapton and Louis Armstrong to the progressive rock of Pink Floyd and Deep Purple...
